What is the difference between LED Panels and Troffers?

LED Panels and Troffers accomplish the same end goal but have some differences between the two products.

Troffers were the original fixture which used fluorescent tube bulbs, ballasts, and lamp holders and has a hinged lens door for bulb access.

LED panels on the other hand utilize integrated LED chips to produce light which last the life of the fixture.

No hinged lens is needed for bulb access, keeping the lens free of bugs and debris like you would commonly find in fluorescent troffers!

With no ballast and no extra space needed for fluorescent bulbs, you will also notice that LED flat panels are much thinner in depth compared to fluorescent troffers.

This key difference makes LED panels much lighter (easier to install) and more versatile as the thin profile can fit into tight spaces where a troffer may not fit.
